This has annoyed me enough to actually bother writing a blog post about at 12:05am

So in their infinite wisdom those guys at Facebook have decided to change the layout AGAIN. Apart from the minor tweaks to copy Twitter more or the privacy settings (which is another issue). There hasn’t exactly been enough changes to warrant a constant change in layout. It’s like they’re saying, “Hey we’re keeping Facebook, fresh, new and exciting”.

Well no. Just changing the layout every other week without actually doing anything does not count.

Usually the layout changes are very minor, something in the display. For example the last thing I remember is the way hiding posts is displayed. (I guess I remember this more because I’m constantly hiding those stupid apps).

And not only is the change annoying because now I’m going to have to get used to this new layout. It’s going to spark hundreds of groups all over again saying bring back the old Facebook, or, I like the new Facebook… aargh FUCK OFF.

So I rant about this, but, it’s Facebook. I’m not going to stop using it. I’m just going to bitch about it on my blog.

While I was there I was lucky enough to see Avatar in the IMAX by Waterloo. Apparently it’s the second biggest screen in Britain after Nick Poskitt‘s. OMG it was huge. When we walked in the first thing I said was imagine CoD on that. Yeah imma geek. Unfortunately due to the fact that it sells out so fast we were sat pretty close to it, so I spent most of the time with my mouth open looking up.

The 3D experience was phenomenal, I’ve never scene anything (in film) like it. It’s that same feeling you get when you first see a film in HD. That Woah that is good feeling. I’d love to see it again in 2D and a smaller screen, just so I can relax a bit, I spent the whole time with my mouth open in awe and trying to concentrate on the many creatures and parts of the world flying past my head.

But he said they have a 2 year waiting list for Work Experience, but someone dropped out, and I called at the right time. Lucky me!

So I’m going for an interview either Saturday or Sunday. I think that’s enough work experience hunting for one day

It’s quite daunting realising that I actually have to find work experience for an actual job that I actually want to do. Although I am excited by the prospect of doing this as a career, which spurs me on.

But I’ve never had to make business emails or phone calls before.  Anyway, my hunt so far, obviously I’ve signed up for BBC Work Exp waiting list,

I’ve also emailed Wired, but the only work experience they do is via and intern 4 week plan, for writers and artists, and I think I might be trying to aim to high with that. Considering I’m not a writer, nor an illustrator or photographer.

So I started to think more practically, and simply googled, Production company, Bournemouth. I found a website (http://www.idorset.co.uk/profile/469813/Bournemouth/Media-Visuals/) that showed me four different production companies.

Cracking Media (www.crackingmedia.com) I emailed them, and got a reply this morning saying -

I replied asking if within the near future they will be offering placements

I also contacted HD Video Shoot, but the owner is still working from home and is looking to set up a studio. I have replied offering my help if they are on a shoot.

The 3rd company I’ve emailed is Raya Films

I’m yet to receive a reply from them. I might make a phone call either later today, or tomorrow morning.

This morning I phoned Media Visuals, they said they had no production on at the moment, but told me to email them my details and he would let me know in a few weeks when he has a project coming up.

I’m going to search for Production companies in Southampton now.

As well as motivation with uni, I’m motivated to train and get fit for my 100 mile charity cycle. Although this can easily be explained – I’ve told a lot of people, and I’ve already raised £129, which is great, thanks to anyone who has donated!

Today I joned the gym, chose my induction for tomorrow, so not to waste any time. I’ve been planning, work and exercise schedules. I got some new trainers and tracksuit bottoms. So now I’m all ready to get fit. If you want to donate then go here.

I’m going to cycle the FULL length of the South Downs Way, which is 100 miles, starting in Winchester, all the way to Eastbourne. It isn’t along roads either. It’s all off road. Not only is it 100 miles long, There’s about a 10000ft climb. (3000 m) .

So I’ll stop whinging about it now. Going to start training for it and plan out a schedule, so by the time it comes to it, it’ll be a piece of cake.

This is the first time since last winter, that I’ve been out in the winter, took some concentration going through the mud, I spent a lot of the time going sideways. Or hitting a deep bit, losing my speed, and having to change gears all while keeping my legs spinning, and not losing balance. Which inevitably I did a few times.

I was planning on doing some sort of round up of 2009. Or the Noughties. But everything I can think of sayong has been said in hundreds of other blogs.

I’ve had a good year though. Even if it has been a bit weird and unexpected at times. But I guess that’s what kept it exciting. I’m loving my new course, I wish I had some more time off in these holidays, I’m back on the 3rd, I am looking forward to starting again though (to many commas).

I saw today that Totton have got new decorations. That was a shock, they’ve been these big hideous stars on the side of buildings for years, for as long as I can remember. Now though, they’re smaller stars, with “whooshing” areas underneath. I’m not even sure if that makes sense.

Unfortunately I haven’t really been keeping up with taking pictures of all the drinks I’ve had, I’ve had about twice as many drinks as I photo. So it hasn’t been a very good record of what I drink, but it still might look cool as a picture. I’ll keep going until the end of Christmas and see what happens I guess.

Anyway, I better start wrapping up presents now.
